COMMUNITY DYNAMICS TAKES GOLD AT BEST IN AMERICAN LIVING

ORLANDO, FL
– The National Association of Home Builders, in association with Professional Builder Magazine, presented Santa Monica based Community Dynamics with the HUD Secretary's Gold Award For Excellence in Affordable Housing at the Best In American Living Awards.

"This was the second time, in the eleven year history of the award, that Community Dynamics has received the building industry's highest honor in affordable housing," said Josh Freeman, the company's spokesperson.

NAHB and HUD recognized Falcon Crest, a development of 93 single family detached homes for low and moderate income first time homebuyers, as the nation's premier affordable ownership community for 2007. Designed by Kristi Hanson Architects and nationally recognized KTGY Group, Inc., these Spanish revival beauties range in size from 1,455 to 1,670 square feet, and sold from $199,000 in a market where entry level new homes start at about $325,000.

In a public-private partnership with the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency, the company cobbled together layered financing from the State of California's BEGIN program, and the California Housing Finance Agency to help families earning as little as $45,000 per year purchase their first home.

The $28 million Energy Star community features building integrated rooftop photovoltaics designed to substantially cut homeowners' electrical bills, sustainable xeriscape design utilizing native plants, and universal design elements allowing multigenerational families to age in place.
